You hit on the very issue I have had with the christian nationalism that has overtaken the GOP. They don't understand that fear and hatred is how many non-Christians see the religion of Jesus. They assume that all will be revealed without ever earning the trust of the people. They are not prophets, they are self-righteous ideologues.
