With all due respect, quarantine is not a new thing. I can’t speak to the transmissibility of smallpox in comparison to COVID 19, but I can point to the fact that we have quarantined before. Specifically, Philadelphia had to shut down its schools, theaters, etc. in order to deal with the 1918 Influenza Pandemic.
