Why I’m Launching The Democracy Archive
Announcing my new publication dedicated to democracy’s history and lessons.
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you are doing well. As some of you may know, I have been away from publishing as of late and haven’t produced a lot of content this month. This is for two reasons:
I am currently working on a petition campaign for a state senator, and unfortunately, I am unable to dedicate as much care to writing as I usually would.
I’ve been laying the groundwork for a brand-new publication that I’m excited to invite you to join: The Democracy Archive.
While I enjoy writing polemical work, and I would argue that it remains critical to keep it up, I haven’t had much of a chance to write about the historical context of our democratic system and the American experiment writ large.
And that’s why I started this new publication. America doesn’t simply need news; it needs the context behind the news. To understand how our past impacts our present and future—and even more than that—to understand why our past matters.
I will still be publishing work here; this is not the end, but I also want to add a historic dimension to my writing.
As such, I am pleased to announce that I will be releasing my first piece on the Election of 1860 on Tuesday at 9 am CST. If you want to learn more about this newsletter, you can check out my announcement below!
I hope you will support The Democracy Archive and join me in this journey of historical analysis and understanding. Thank you so much for all the support, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
