Lauren Boebert Invited Insurrectionists to Tour the Capitol
The Republican Congress woman apparently doesn't mind violent rioters

Earlier this week, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, pardoned more than 1,500 January 6th insurrectionists. In the face of these pardons, Republican operatives have begun appeasing the newly freed rioters, but one of the most blatant examples is Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert. After the pardons were announced, Lauren Boebert, in her infinite wisdom, offered to give the insurrectionists a tour.
During an impromptu press conference, Boebert argued that the insurrectionists were innocent because of Trump’s election. As Raw Story reports:
Boebert suggested that Trump's election proved that the rioters were innocent.
"And if there's another regret, I'm sure it's only on the Democrats who are regretting that they didn't just shut up because now they're finding out," she said. "They messed around, if you will, for four years, and now they're finding out."
The lawmaker said she had to leave for the Capitol but would return to the jail to see the rioters released.
"I want to see them for their release, and you know, I'll be the first member of Congress to offer them a guided tour in the Capitol tonight," she insisted.
It is worth noting that Stewart Rhodes is among some of the January 6th insurrectionists who were pardoned. Rhodes, the leader and founder of the Oath Keepers, was convicted of Seditious Conspiracy and sentenced to 18 years in prison for his plans to storm the Capitol. His pre-planned operation to attack the Capitol not only threatened the well-being of all the people who were working in the Capitol but also the peaceful transfer of power.
And now, thanks to Trump's pardon, he was allowed to walk through the Capitol he tried to storm unopposed. This is the reality that Lauren Bobert wants because it serves to elevate her name among the MAGA crowd. That impetus is far too common among Republicans and so long as that remains the case, we will never come to term with what happened on January 6th.
